Mind Body Program for Teens with Gastroenterology Problems

Does your child have Celiac Disease? Inflammatory Bowel Disease? Irritable Bowel Syndrome? Chronic Abdominal Pain or Nausea? The Pediatric Gastroenterology department at Mass General Hospital for Children is pleased to offer a Stress Management and Resiliency Training (SMART) program to teach teens ages 14-18 the self-care skills that can reduce physical symptoms and help them move through life with greater resiliency.

Based on the Benson-Henry Institute for Mind Body Management’s SMART program, this 8-week group program will teach participants a variety of mind body practices and self-care interventions including meditation techniques, mindfulness and imagery and techniques to promote healthy eating habits improve sleep hygiene and increase physical activity.

The 8-session program will be held Wednesdays from 6:00 to 7:30 PM beginning April 25that the Yawkey Center for Outpatient Care, 32 Fruit Street, 4th Floor. The cost is $50 per participant.
