Ingredients
- 1 Tbsp bacon drippings
- 1 cup thinly sliced onion
- 1-1/2 cups cubed Gruyere or cheddar cheese
- 4 slices crisp bacon, crumbled
- 5 eggs, lightly beaten
- 2 cups light cream or 1 cup heavy cream and 1 cup milk
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp white pepper
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes

Instructions
- Cook onions in bacon drippings until transparent.
- Cover bottom of pie pan with onions, cheese cubes, and crumbled bacon.
- Combine remaining ingredients and pour over the onions and cheese.
- Bake in very hot 450 degree oven for 10 minutes then reduce heat to 350 degrees and bake for 15-20 minutes or until knife comes out clean.
